Commander Samuel Blyth and Lt. William Burrows

"The captain of HMS Boxer, Commander Samuel Blyth, was killed early in the action by a cannonball; had he lived he might have defended his ship more desperately, but it is not probable with more success. It was his fate now to receive like courtesy at the hands of his enemy. His remains, in company with those of the brave Lieutenant William Burrows, were brought to Portland, where they were interred with military honours in Eastern Cemetery. It was a striking and affecting sight, to behold two gallant commanders, who had lately been arrayed in deadly hostility against each other, descending into one quiet grave, there to mingle their dust peacefully together."

If you want to change up your Portland Dinner Plans, look no further that Blyth & Burrows. My wife and I say in the "shop" looking towards the restaurant.. although tight, it was intimate a made the night a little more spontaneous. We enjoyed the Deviled Egg, Puff Pastry dish (forget the name), and the Charred (superb oyster dish).

The complexity of ingredients and flavor profiles sent my buds for a ride. Portions were small but packed a punch. The cocktails were also well crafted and deliberate. We will absolutely be back next year.
Walking in just like that and had best drinks and believe me .. let Brandon make u drinks.. just the best
Great service and drinks!
Delicious cocktails!
Our bartender was super friendly & knowledgeable and the drinks were great!
On the recommendation of our food tour guide, my husband and I stopped here for cocktails a few hours before having dinner at Papi just a couple doors down. We didn't have a reservation and it was about 4:00 pm on a Sunday, we were able to be seated immediately in the outdoor area. We ordered the homemade pretzels with mustard and beer cheese and the Jonah crab to enjoy with our cocktails. Both were fantastic. I had a cocktail called Capeside, which was a clarified, tequila-based cocktail garnished with a bruleed banana (AMAZING) and my husband had the Tom Yum Punch clarified cocktail and we were both shocked by how much it tasted like Tom Yum soup. It was absolutely delicious. The cocktails were unique, memorable, and delivered on big flavors. We would happily return!
Oysters and beer were great
Super cool place! We were a larger group and they let us make a reservation so we could all sit together in the parlor for drinks. Our waitress was super knowledgeable about the drinks and gave great recommendations so everyone was able to find something they enjoyed! We will definitely come back!
The place is very cozy, really liked the atmosphere and the vibe. Drinks are a little pricey, but worth the overall experience once in a while. Haven’t tried any food.
I'm not a bar person so the loud music was not for me, but the owner was amazing and kept the kitchen open for us when we got there late. The hosin meatballs and fresh hot pretzel bites were wonderful. I made them into sliders! My son loved the crab claws and they were a great price. It was a great meal and I'm so glad we went there.
Great vibe. Bartender was super nice and answered all our silly questions. Got the Tom Yum Punch and it was surprisingly delicious.
One of the most inspired cocktail programs in Maine. A Portland must-see
